~ The dull silence crushed around the boy's world, enveloping him with silken folds of bliss. How nice was it to wander around in foreign territory, trespassing no doubt, and not give a damn? Khaz's ears flicked softly as an indistinct noise whipped through the clearing, giving him reason to pause and survey the scene... then, finding nothing awry, continue his pointless pacing. Spring, and her thick scent, clogged every pore in his lithe body, making Khaz feel bloated and strange. There was an interesting feel of thickness in the air; almost like a humid summertime night rather than a fresh spring day. Shrugging off the feel of eyes on his back, Khazm chuckled deeply, though reason for this there was not. He was simply amused, no? Of course, one might argue that the boy's madness, coupled with his easily riled humour, was conjuring his miniature fit of giggles.
The inky-black tongue lolled out of Khazm's mouth, the dual-ends wriggling freely as he tried to get a grip on his chuckles. When the stillness returned, the wolf resumed walking in circles in his little clearing. The blinding sun above him, even though it was partially masked by the many trees that surrounded him, still managed to hinder the boy's vision, nearly driving him mad. The little flowers that grew here waved tauntingly at him, speaking to him with their little gestures. How infuriating it was to be able to see everything in only the vaguest sense? Khazm knew not what their colours were, and this angered him. Perhaps he could tell their colours from their taste? After all, grass and certain leaves tasted green... lovely fresh green! Why not these little blossoms? Khaz chuckled again and lowered his mouth to the ground, about to take a bite of the little flower before another thought struck him:
What if he wasn't acquainted with this colour? A lot of good it would do him if he had chanced upon a colour that had never graced his pallette, no? Or worse: what if the flower didn't taste like the colour it really was? Bah! Toads didn't taste green at all, and green was his favourite taste! They tasted much closer to brown or black... and what if the same thing happened with this flower? Worse yet: what if the flower did not taste of a colour at all? Fear flooded his brain for a minute, then, without deciding to, the boy snapped up the flower and rolled it around in his mouth. Ah, it was definitely red. The bittersweet blossom made him gag slightly, but he managed to ascertain the colour must be red before he spat it back out.
Well, now that he had discovered the nature of this little clearing, it was a good time to meet the leader of these pretty lands. The lady, as judging by the scents left around, had particularly fine taste in lands. At least, in this little clearing. Such varieties of flowers would keep him occupied indeed! Raising his head, the boy let loose a trilling-howl, perhaps enticing a visit from the mysterious alpha-lady with her excellent taste in flowers. No doubt she would love to have a handsome individual such as Khazm in her ranks? Not to do anything there, obviously... just to gain free-passage. Unless, of course, he was offered a status, no? Who wouldn't want to co-reign her little imp-followers? The hollow broke off into a stream of giggles again as Khaz pranced around the clearing again, almost dancing and leaping about. How happy a day he was having! ~
